Botswana International University of Science & Technology (BIUST) has opened its Palapye campus doors to all those who wants to learn more about the university. Prior booking with the Enrollment and Admissions office is essential. Prospective students are welcome to come and appreciate the state of the art facilities and get a taste of student life in the university.
This event is beneficial for school-going learners to explore the range of academic programmes and career information options available at the University. The event attracts more students eager to find out about BIUST and what the different Colleges at the University have to offer. The BIUST Open Day is unique because it gives high school learners the chance to know programmes of study, to pose questions to our academic staff and student ambassadors and to explore many career opportunities our academic programmes offer.
On the day, the University’s College of Engineering and Sciences perform experiments in their respective laboratories and offer learners a chance to ask questions where they don’t understand. The day also features a wide range of activities which include: a warm welcome from the Director of Enrolment and Admissions, interactive displays by academic departments on curriculum structuring, guided student facilities tour by ambassadors, sports fields tour and other campus facilities. This event takes place in the first week of December and sessions start in the morning. Guided tours usually last 30 to 60 minutes. Learners are advised not to miss this because it helps them to make informed decisions about their study choices. Visitors may access the campus by means of public taxi from the main Palapye bus rank or may opt to use private vehicles.
