The Department of Student Housing & Campus Life provides services related to on and off campus accommodation. The University has both single and shared rooms for the students. Each room is equipped with basic furniture and bed linen is provided to all on-campus students, all of which are expected to bring their own towels and toiletry. Some rooms are fitted with ceiling fans whilst television sets are provided in most lounges for student’s entertainment and convenience.
The aim of BIUST as an evolving University is to create a residence culture that is conducive to living and learning. Residence life, as part of the student experience, is intended to enhance holistic development of every on-campus student. The University residences have the necessary basic furniture and facilities with a staff member taking charge over each residence.
For BIUST, demand for on-campus accommodation exceeds supply and therefore off campus accommodation is a reality. The University strives to provide enough information and guidance on the available off campus accommodation facilities.
The University runs its refectory through a private caterer with a view to providing healthy meals to both students and staff. The refectory is within the University campus and serves a variety of dietary requirements taking into account the diversity of the University community.
