Student Academic Registry & Examinations Management

The Department of Student Academic Registry and Examinations Management is situated on the ground floor of the main BIUST Administration building.

Mandate of the Department

This is the central administrative department of the university. It works in partnership with Colleges to administer academic programmes by providing high quality services and support to current students, alumni and the general university staff.  The department is responsible for the coordination of both academic and administrative matters of the University with particular reference to;

  • Assessment and examinations
  • Secretarial services to Senate
  • Consistent application of policy, rules and regulations using discretion where applicable
  • Coordinating all student registry services within the university
  • Developing relationships with funding and key external stakeholders
  • Coordination of the university’s academic function and student support services
  • Coordination of students academic orientation, registration, transfers and graduation
  • Ensuring the safe custody and integrity of students records
  • Enforcement of the general academic regulations relating to credit load, progression rules and examinations administration
  • Scheduling of modules for teaching and examinations purposes
  • Releasing of examinations results
  • Coordination of the generation of the university academic calendar

The department is made up of three units;

  • Students Information System Section
  • Registration and Examinations Section
  • Student Records and Services Section
