In our endeavour to connect further with the broader community while enhancing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) literacy, Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology (MIST) in collaboration with BIUST hosted a National Science Week on the 15th to 19th August 2016 in Palapye.

REGISTER FOR CHINESE LANGUAGE & CULTURE COURSES NOW!!

BIUST invites applications for Chinese language courses as follows;

   Short Chinese language courses for specific groups within the civil service, the private sector and the public at large.

 ☆  Occasional public lectures and events related to Chinese culture and society;

 ☆  Summer or winter camps in China.

Register now for the September session of Chinese courses which is from September 5th to November 30th, 2016

The classes are held twice a week in the evenings at the BIUST campus. 

Registration deadline for the September session intake is August 29th, 2016.

The Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) is pleased to announce the first annual conference (ARTCCEE-2016) which will be held in Botswana on 22nd to 26 November 2016. The theme of the conference is: ‘Advances in Recent Technologies of Communication, Computer and Electrical Engineering’. It features state of the art advancements in electrical engineering track, electronics engineering track, computer engineering track and telecommunications engineering track. 

The conference organized by the Department of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunications Engineering aims to bring together leading researchers, engineers, technology developers, and policy makers from multi-disciplinary research and industrial areas so as to exchange ideas as well as information on their latest advancements in research, innovation and applications. Isolated research and ideas are insufficient, therefore this platform provides unprecedented opportunity for all involved to network and collaborate at the heart of SADC. The conference will be a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and establishment of international collaboration in the field of engineering and technology, and will greatly contribute toward creation of an international modern digital culture.  

ARTCCEE 2016 will welcome specialists from Botswana, African countries at large, USA, EU, Australia and Asia. This international auditorium allows participants to share their achievements and successes, as well as to discuss Advances in Recent Technologies and modern solutions. 

The conference will feature presentations by renowned international guest speakers such as Prof. Oussama Khatib, who is the Director of Stanford Robotics Lab, Stanford University, USA; Prof. Gerald Schaefer, who is the Leader in Vision, Imaging and Autonomous Systems Research Group, Loughborough University, United Kingdom; Prof. Horia Hedesiu, who is the Managing Director, National Instruments, Romania; Professor Shedden Masupe, who is the Executive Director, Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI), Botswana.

The Botswana International University of Science & Technology (BIUST) scooped third (3rd) prize in the Parastatals category at the just ended Business Botswana Northern Trade Fair held in Francistown under the theme “Connecting Ideas; Creating Opportunities”.
